Coastal Elegance: House 22 Unveiled in Pichilemu
In the vibrant coastal region of Pichilemu, just south of the renowned Punta de Lobos, stands House 22, a remarkable architectural achievement from the visionary team at Loft7. Finished in 2023, this 400 square meter dwelling is expertly positioned on a naturally contoured site that gently descends towards the northwest. This deliberate orientation provides its inhabitants with breathtaking, panoramic views of the vast Pacific Ocean and the untouched beauty of the indigenous vegetation that blankets the area.
The design, meticulously crafted by lead architects Igor Moraga and Sebastián Ortúzar, in collaboration with design team members Cristóbal Jaque and Fabián Acuña, showcases a profound understanding of its geographical context. The integration of the house with its dramatic surroundings is evident in every detail, from its material selection of glass, steel, and concrete to its spatial organization. The structural engineering, provided by RK3 Ingenieros calculistas, ensures both stability and a minimalist aesthetic that enhances the natural grandeur. This residence not only offers shelter but also serves as a portal to an extraordinary coastal lifestyle, inviting a constant connection with nature's ever-changing spectacle.
House 22 exemplifies how contemporary architecture can respectfully engage with and elevate its environment. It inspires a renewed appreciation for design that is both functional and deeply rooted in its location, fostering a sense of tranquility and awe in its occupants. The project stands as a beacon for future coastal developments, emphasizing sustainability and harmonious integration over mere construction.
